DigitalDiplomacy.ro is proud to launch DigiGov, a network aimed to support the development of the online communication initiatives within the Romanian public administration. The goal of this project is to bring together communicators and social media managers from a wide range of public institutions (ministries, Government, embassies, representations of foreign bodies in Romania etc) so that they can exchange best practice ideas amongst themselves but also with journalists, bloggers etc.
We believe that digital communication represents more than just broadcasting official messages. Social networks can be successfully used by public institutions to reach strategic objectives through building a sustainable online community.
The first edition of DigiGov is supported and hosted by the British Embassy in Bucharest and will take place on 28 October between 15:00 – 17:00.
The key topic for this first meeting will be “The Online Communication Plan” and we will benefit from special guests such as British Ambassador Paul Brummell and Radu Puchiu, Coordinator of the Department for Online Services and Design within the Romanian Government. Our guests will spark a discussion about their experience in online communication and about the challenges which public institutions face in this area.
DigiGov will be an internal, institutional network, which regular meetings (most likely monthly) and each one of them will have a specific topic of discussion.
We will keep you updated regarding the progress of this project through this blog and we will let you know each topic of meetings. If you are interested in this project and would want to find out more about it, please send me a direct email via firstname.lastname@example.org and we can discuss further about the opportunities for attending.
A big Thank you! to our partners – the British Embassy in Romania and the Romanian Government for supporting this initiative!
